Notice of modes of operation of catering scheduled premises and requirement for all participants for SOE (Hong Kong Region) anniversary celebration ceremony
Like many event organizers, the Society of Operations Engineers-Hong Kong Region (SOEHK) is looking forward to organize gathering activities in catering premises based on the highest level of Vaccine Bubble. Further to the notice by the end of June 2021, we are pleased to be informed that Shangri La Kowloon, that is, the venue for 18th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony of SOEHK has moved into the Vaccine Bubble Type D operating mode.
Under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F), the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation (Cap. 599G) and the Prevention and Control of Disease (Wearing of Mask) Regulation (Cap. 599I) to relax social distancing measures with conditions with "vaccine bubble" as the basis, please be noted that mode of TYPE D operation of catering premises are:
Maximum 12 persons per table.
Dine-in service until 2 a.m.
At least two-thirds of persons at the same table for non-banquets must have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Maximum 180 participants in any one banquet. At least two-thirds of the total number of participants must have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Must use the “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile application.
Except persons aged under 16 with an accompanying adult.
Persons aged under 16 without the company of an adult, and persons aged 65 or above may opt to complete the record form.
In light of cooperating with service provider subject to government regulations as stated above, SOEHK is required to prepare all participants’ vaccination status of COVID-19 for inspection purpose conducted by relevant government department, if required, in July 2021. To this end, we would like to ask for your assistance to complete the reply slip on the last page and return to info@soe.org.hk or by facsimile to 2617 0377 on or before 24 July 2021. SOE Hong Kong delegation led by Professor Edmund Chuk that included Dr. Chris Tam and Dr. Hiran Shanaka and SOE UK delegation led by Mr. Howard Seymour that included Chris Grime and Mr. Robin Bates have laid a strong foundation in Sri Lanka with the courtesy of engineering & technological sector of Sri Lanka government to develop the Professional Engineering Sector through SOE memberships.
SOE effort is appreciated by Sri Lanka Government and the Innaguration Ceremoney was officiated by Power and Energy State Minister Mr. Ajith Perera.
SOE Asia Pacific delegation led by Professor Edmund Chuk that included Dr. Chris Tam and Dr. Hiran Shanaka and SOE UK delegation led by Mr. Howard Seymour that included Mr. Chris Grime and Mr. Robin Bates have laid a strong foundation in Sri Lanka with the courtesy of engineering & technological sector of Sri Lanka government to develop the Professional Engineering Sector through SOE memberships.
Professor Edmund Chuk has eyed in SOE developments in Sri Lanka way back in year 2006 and finally a breakthrough has come in recently.
SOE has chosen Horizon Campus, a well-established university in Sri Lanka as their local partner.
The event was held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo on 4th August 2018. The event was officiated by Hon. State Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Mr. Ajith P Perera and Secretary of Ministry of Science, Technology and Research Mrs. Sandhya Wijayabandara to bring the event to national scale under the coordination of Dr. Shanaka. Also, all the Heads and Deputies of Engineering Schools belonged to Sri Lanka government has taken part in this event to witness this Historical event.
SOE is expected to recruit over 1000 members in a short period of time and this number is further expected to double in the near future making inroads to all corners of Sri Lanka.
This event has also paved the way for the official commencement of Asia Pacific Region of SOE and will also encompass SOE Sri Lanka Region when it is established.
All members have an obligation to undertake CPD throughout their chosen career as a means of maintaining current competencies in the ever evolving field of Operations Engineering. Importantly, for Engineering Council Registrants this obligation underpins the value of the professional titles of Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng).
